OUR STORY
Why I Built This
I spent thirty years advising boards on CEO succession at Spencer Stuart and Heidrick & Struggles, and studying how leaders make difficult decisions.
None of that prepared me for the morning a developmental pediatrician used the word autism about our son.
Luca is five. We are in the middle of this.
I wanted peers who understood both leadership and raising an autistic child. People to think honestly with, learn from, and join in building a better future for our children.
So I am building the community I was looking for, alongside others who wanted the same thing.

One Belief
L3 rests on one belief: different experiences and ways of thinking help us see what we would miss alone.
Raising an autistic child can change what we value, what we tolerate, and how we lead. Those changes are different for each of us. L3 gives us peers with whom to understand them and decide what to do next.
What The Year is Designed to Build
- A clearer understanding of how raising your child has shaped your values and leadership.
- Sharper judgment from examining real decisions with people who see them differently.
- Experience putting ideas into practice, with peers who help you learn from the results.
- Clearer priorities for your child's future, including support when you can no longer be there.
- Trusted relationships with people who understand both parts of your life.
Why We Gather in Vail
By the time we gather in Vail, we will have shared questions, examined decisions, and learned something about one another. The retreat gives us time to deepen those relationships, reflect on what has changed, and consider what comes next.
