THE YEAR

A year to reflect, examine, act, build, and gather.

We learn from one another and invited innovators, and help each other think through consequential decisions.

Case studies are one part of the experience. The relationships connect it all.

01

Reflect

We laugh together and we cry together.

Members share what is working in their families — and what hasn't worked out. No polished answers, no performance.

In one sense, a support group — but a particular kind: senior leaders who bring business expertise and judgment to the hardest questions of family life.

We look ahead together: who will understand and support our children when we no longer can?

L3 does not provide individualized care, financial, or legal plans.

02

Examine

Original case studies explore the decisions of leaders and innovators improving life for autistic people and their families — and turn the lens inward on how raising an autistic child shapes our values, leadership, and decisions.

Each case is examined in a confidential small-group Forum, often with the featured innovator joining. Members bring a perspective, not a polished answer.

Cases are written for this room by Jeffrey Cohn (Harvard Business School, including work on Apple) and Dr. Carrie Muchow (Columbia Ph.D., advanced training in neuropsychology).

Prospective members can request a redacted sample.

03

Act

Members choose actions that fit their circumstances — a policy change, a hire, a board conversation, a family decision — and report back on what they tried and learned.

04

Build

Some questions can't be answered by discussion alone. They have to be built.

Each year, small member-led groups choose one question worth building around and work on it across the year — a shared resource, a pilot, a guide.

For example: turning everything learned about navigating school IEPs into a guide the next family can use from day one.

Joining is optional and separate from the Forums. Projects that need funding or legal structure are set up independently — L3 is where good ideas get their start, not where they live.

05

Gather

City gatherings and a closing retreat in Vail deepen relationships face to face.

The retreat is planned for 2027; exact dates will be shared once confirmed. The retreat program is included in membership; travel and lodging are separate. Members who cannot attend remain full members.

The Brain Trust

L3 draws on researchers, clinicians, investors, and leaders whose work shapes our discussions. Selected contributors may join during the year; membership does not guarantee individual access.

Time and Participation

At least four ninety-minute Forums a year — roughly quarterly, facilitated by Jeffrey Cohn, always accessible virtually — provide a minimum of six hours of scheduled discussion.

Forums are confidential and unrecorded: learning conversations, not pitches. Build groups meet about ninety minutes a month for members who opt in.

Case reading is done on your own schedule. Before joining, we will discuss the calendar and participation expectations with you.
